I was using the website version, which has the same features but a Win Mac licence. I’d rather download it from the app store to my account. This is the best video recording and editing app I’ve used in 10 years. Software bugs are normal. This company responds quickly and resolves issues. They keep the app updated and listen to customer feedback, which is great. Why 4/5? Bug causes app crash. Emoji in annotation text boxes are inverted and cause the app to crash. The app crashes and emojis don’t display.

Missing basic functionality!
I’ve used Camtasia for years. I regret buying it for Mac. Without a plugin, Camtasia for MacOS can’t record system audio (TechSmith Audio Capture Component). The plugin doesn’t work after installation. Techsmith support didn’t respond. $99 gone. Plugin? Why? Camtasia records system audio.

I upgraded from Camtasia 2018 to 2020. Some reviews mention bugs. I’ve never had one. The developer probably fixed them. I prefer Camtasia over Screenflow because it’s easier to use and manage. I love “cursor smoothing.” Not sure if this was released in 2019, but it looks great!

No system audio
Big Sur required a new copy. System audio incompatible. Installed plugin, changed permissions, etc., but it still says “Need System Audio” and won’t record internal sound. Rebooted, etc. The latest TechSmith plugin doesn’t work. I deleted it, downloaded TechSmith’s trial version, and it worked perfectly. Read threads, etc.
